K&A Wooden Creations is a proud, woman-owned and operated woodworking business rooted right here in Winnipeg, Manitoba. We specialize in crafting high-quality, custom wood floating shelves and fireplace mantels—pieces designed to serve as stunning statement features in any home.

From Builder Grade to Bespoke

Our journey started, as many great ones do, with frustration. In 2019, while adding the finishing touches to our own builder-grade home, we grew tired of the high cost and low quality of standard materials. Determined to create something lasting, we took matters into our own hands.

Leveraging our existing tools and know-how, we designed and built a complete custom built-in for our great room—featuring stonework, cabinetry, floating shelves, and a fireplace mantel. The finished product immediately garnered admiration from friends and family, sparking an entirely new passion for custom craftsmanship.

The Leap of Faith

Coincidentally, around that same time, the COVID-19 pandemic led to Paula, our founder, losing her job in the travel insurance industry. Always dreaming of entrepreneurship, she saw this as a clear opportunity to turn her woodworking skills into a business. She started small, crafting pieces for friends and family, and soon, the demand for her high-quality creations grew exponentially.

Taking a decisive leap of faith, Paula began selling her work online, and within months, a beloved hobby blossomed into a thriving local business. We proudly named our company K&A Wooden Creations after our children, Kaelyn and Asher, making every piece a true family affair.

Now in our sixth year of business, we are incredibly grateful for the support from the community. We are excited to continue creating beautiful, functional, and custom pieces that bring warmth and character to homes across Manitoba and beyond.
